.) Practice a little bit every day by saying the words out loud.

.)  If you are going to be quizzed in a written format, make sure you practice writing out the vocabulary words.

.)  Make flashcards, but don't write any English whenever you can avoid it.  For example, if one of the vocabulary words for the chapter is el árbol (the tree), don't just write el árbol on one side and the word "tree" in English on the other side; write el árbol on one side and draw a picture of a tree on the other side.   It's easier for your brain to learn another language when there is little English interference.

.)  Read out loud!  It's excellent pronunciation practice.

.)  Label your surroundings with post-its.

.)  Teach your new vocabulary words to a friend, a younger sibling, a parent, or even the dog.  ; )

.)  Develop an ear for Spanish by listening to Spanish music, watching a little bit of Spanish TV, etc.

.)  Don't expect to be perfect....expect lots of mistakes and know that it's a normal part of second language acquisition!
